Little Trip to Tagaytay

June 24, 2011

okay, let me share something about my friends. I have this jetsetter best friend, Ms. Nadine Onglao, who left for Czech Republic four years ago. Whenever she’d visit Manila, we’d always try to see each other even if she just visited for a few days. Her trips to Manila are usually just stopovers to somewhere else. After 3 years in Czech, she decided to go to Guam, and has been there for a year now. Imagine my excitement when I found out that she was visiting this June – and my disappointment in finding out that she’d be here for only a little over 24 hours. This 24 hour trip wasnt an exception though. She had to go to Tagaytay just last Tuesday straight from the airport because her sister was getting married there the morning after. Sooooo, a few superfriends, Mikey, Patch, G and I decided to go to Tagaytay to see her.Β  Keep in mind though, that my class ends at 7pm and that Mikey, G, and I had appointments the following morning. So we had dinner first at greenbelt (HAHA) then left at around 900 PM to head to Tagaytay.

Since we had absolutely no plans, we ended up “sleeping” at the couches…in the lobby. HAHA we talked till the weee hours of the morning and left at around 6:00 am, right after breakfast. Even though we spent barely 6 hours with Nadz, and despite being late to work and school, it was definitely worth it. πŸ™‚

HOWEVER, despite bringing luggage of the following morning’s outfit (which I apparently didn’t need coz I ended up going home first), we were still really unprepared for the famous Tagaytay weather. We were all shivering! Well, hello, Patch and I were wearing shorts! so, since we couldve easily gotten hypothermia there, here are some tips for those who are thinking of going to Tagaytay, or anywhere windy for that matter. πŸ™‚

1. Bring a scarf. One, it’s fashionable. haha two, it keeps your neck warm. Three, it doubles as a blanket when you need one.

2. Bring a jacket, preferably a thick one, or try a knit sweater. Knits always work.

3. Bring mosquito repellent! this is really important. The insects there are gigantic. It’s always best to be prepared.

4. As much as possible, try to wear pants or just keep covered. Avoid wearing thin fabrics such as chiffon.

Here are some pics from my recent adventure if you guys wanna see. πŸ™‚
